Corridor Vc belongs to the Pan-European Corridor Network adopted at the Third Pan-European Conference in Helsinki in 1997. Corridor Vc connects Budapest in Hungary, Osijek in Croatia and larger cities in BiH: Doboj, Zenica, Sarajevo and Mostar, and ends in the Croatian port of Ploce. A direct connection to the east-west Pan-European Corridor X has been set up in Croatia, north of the Sava river. The length of the motorway on the Corridor Vc Budapest – Osijek – Sarajevo – Ploce, is about 660 km. A large number of structures has been foreseen on the LOT4 section, but the most important is the ‘Babina Rijeka’ Viaduct, whose 160 m span represents the largest bridge span on the entire Corridor Vc.
