TZI - Inženjering
Sarajevo 1st Transversal has a significant role in the formation of the complete traffic network in Sarajevo Canton. With its function in the formation of the city road network, this Transversal has the rank of a primary city road. Given the spatial character of the longitudinal development of the city conditioned by the morphological characteristics of the area, and thus the road network, 1st Transversal can be called a “vein of the city” that connects the nearby city center, from the Southern Longitudinal, with the Sarajevo Bypass on Corridor Vc and Vogosca.

Route of the 1st Transversal is divided into four sections, as follows:

   Section 1: From Zagrebacka Street to Silvije Strahimira Kranjcevica Street, which includes the construction of a bridge on the Miljacka River and the connection with Zmaja od Bosne Street, ie the main city road.

  Section 2: From Silvije Strahimira Kranjcevica Street to the Kobilja Glava tunnel.

    Section 3: Kobilja Glava Tunnel.

    Section 4: From the Kobilja glava tunnel to the interchange Josanica.


Based on the Terms of Reference and the adopted Preliminary Design of the 1st Transversal, the TZI – Inzenjering Ltd. Sarajevo company has developed the following designs:
  • Main design – Detailed design for the section Silvije Strahimira Kranjcevica Street – Bare – Donji Hotonj;
  • Main design for the Kobilja Glava Tunnel and
  • Preliminary design for the section from the Kobilja Glava tunnel to the interchange Josanica

The referred section of the 1st Transversal included motor transport, pedestrian transport and tram transport.
Within the Main design – Detailed design of the section Silvije Strahimira Kranjcevica Street – Bare – Donji Hotonj, the Grand overpass, Grand underpass, overpass Velesici, Bare viaduct, underpass Sip were also designed.

Tunel “Kobilja Glava” nosi ime istoimenog prevoja kroz koji prolazi i predstavlja početak ostvarivanja ideje uspostavljanja efikasne veze između Sarajeva i Vogošće posredstvom moderne saobraćajnice sa dvije odvojene vozne trake. Realizacijom tog poduhvata, pored osnovnog cilja, steći će se uslovi za značajnije poboljšanje saobraćajnih tokova i otklanjanje prisutnih problema na postojećim prigradskim saobraćajnim vezama u području južnog prilaza Sarajevu, posebno u periodu turističke sezone.

1st Transversal alignment – Section I: S.S. Kranjcevica Street – Bare – Donji Hotonj (“Kobilja Glava” Tunnel) starts from the intersection with S. S. Kranjcevic Street, respectively the Northern Longitudinal, and extends to the “Kobilja Glava” Tunnel. The project also includes the relocation of part of Alipasina and Jukiceva streets, as well as other associated roads within the given corridor of 1st Transversal.
